During these unprecedented times, it’s organizations like the St. Albert Food Bank that have been there to support our community. In addition to providing emergency nutritional support to St. Albert and surrounding for over 35 years, their food hampers have increased over 50 percent in March alone. They have also increased their operation to 5 days per week, all dependent on volunteers. The staff has implemented a rigorous pandemic plan including limiting the number of visitors and clients at any one time as well as providing a delivery service to those who are unable to pickup and in an effort to maintain physical distancing. The Food Bank is currently undergoing a renovation and expansion to their facility to allow for future increased demand. The organization depends solely on donations.
